Studio Crèmes advances its sculptural pottery through The Gourd Project, a series of vessels that simulate living growth and structural form in clay. Through a method of layering and controlled shrinkage, each piece evolves as it cures, producing organic silhouettes that echo the natural process of gourd growth. The project explores how ceramics can embody more than utility—how surface, posture, and morphology might feel rooted yet fluid.
Rather than relying on molds or traditional wheel-thrown symmetry, the team manipulates clay in stages, coaxing bulges, tapers, and asymmetry that feel intentional but spontaneous.
