Audi's charging lounge concept is an upscale rest stop for EV drivers that provides a place for both people and cars to refuel. Equipped with six LED-lit fast charging pods, the station offers a secure place for drivers to plug in their vehicles and stop to pick up snacks, drinks or other non-food items as needed.
According to Audi, the stations are capable of topping up an E-Tron GT from 5% to 80% battery in 23 minutes thanks to a set of recycled lithium-ion battery cubes and solar power collected by the building's roof panels.
The experience that Audi's charging stations provide is reminiscent of airport lounges for first-class fliers, since travelers have the chance to replenish themselves on-site with a variety of refreshments.
