One of the biggest movements in 2018 was the emersion of life-like CG models that have a distinct social media presence and extend themselves with cultural commentary, music releases, interviews and more. Digital influencers like Lil Miquela, supermodel Shudu, record producer Baauer and others have built a strong, realistic and relatable presence, albeit their existence is essentially fictitious.
This movement is continuing into 2019 with Imma joining the line-up of CG models. The pink-haired virtual persona is developed by Japanese CG company ModelingCafe. Imma is active on Instagram with the handle @imma.gram and has appeared on the cover of 'CGWorld.'
The digital model is an example of a culturally focused digital entity that perhaps does not only delight audiences with her digital realism but also pushes Japanese pop culture.
