People know that they can visit an IKEA store and expect to see a variety of the furniture and decor products set up in inspiring in-store installations. While this helps people get a sense of what it might be like to live and interact with the products, IKEA introduced a virtual influencer to the store experience in Japan.
At the IKEA Harajuku location in Tokyo, visitors now have the chance to be treated to a high-tech experience featuring Imma, who stars in the Happiness at Home installation. Imma "inhabits" the rooms via high-definition LED screens, making it seem as if she's truly lounging on a couch or browsing through her closet. Mimicking real life, the installation spans a full day and the scene gradually goes from the bright hours of daytime to a cozy evening.
