Retro Tiled Buildings

This Ceramic-Tiled Design Apartment Building Mixes Old with New

Bringing back the authentic and very charming ceramic-tiled design back in style, Portuguese studio OODA has designed 14 studio flats in a vintage building with a retro-tiled facade.

Giving the traditional ceramic-tiled design style a makeover, the flats are located in a nineteenth-century building that still has some of its original features -- which gives the pads even more appeal -- and new contemporary details such as folded metal staircases.

With a bevy of apartments to choose from that range in size from 28 square meters to 105 square meters, this is the perfect mix of old and new that chic youngsters are looking for.

"The client's objective was to cater for the younger market as the building is near universities, hospitals, the art district and the nightlife area," says architect Diogo Brito.
