Mache Custom Kicks Brings to Life to Footwear from a Simpsons Episode

— March 8, 2018 — Art & Design
First sported by Ned Flanders in an episode from Season 2 of The Simpsons, the 'Assasin' is no longer a fictitious pair of cartoon sneakers. Mache Custom Kicks brings the chunky design to life with a black, yellow and red Sharpie on a Nike Air Monarch silhouette.

Boasting the expected aesthetic of cartoon sneakers, the custom re-work is also "highly reminiscent of Raf Simons' 'De Stijl' hiking boot." Mache Custom Kicks posted the real-life Assasin on Instagram, where it quickly gained recognition. The silhouette includes strong references to the fictitious version of the cartoon sneakers, "including a yellow tongue, 'velcro-straps,' a red-accented midsole and the 'Assasin' script."

This Simpsons-inspired silhouette is sure to delight fans and perhaps inspire them to DIY their own sneakers.
