As part of an ongoing modernization program, UK flooring and bed retailer Carpetright took on the daunting task of overhauling everything from its IT infrastructure to back office organization and in-store technologies. This change was much-needed after the company found it difficult to keep up with software that was expensive, yet unreliable.
One of the most significant changes made in-store was taking on a partnership with Fujitsu, which introduced Microsoft technology solutions for the brand's POS systems.
While this is just one component in Carpetright's mission to modernize the business, overall, the strategic plan has been successful at helping to boost half-year profits by more than 34%. This goes to show the positive impact that keeping up with current technology can have on the experience for store staff and consumers.
