With shortages of personal protective equipment and other supplies in Canada, Canada Goose has taken the initiative to dedicate its manufacturing resources to creating scrubs for healthcare workers, as well as gowns for patients, which will be donated to local hospitals.
The brand will begin creating the scrubs and gowns starting on March 30th, with its manufacturing facilities in Toronto and Winnipeg being the first to begin. Canada Goose aims to create 10,000 units for donation, and will extend the manufacturing of medical supplies to other facilities if needed in the future.
Dani Reiss, President and CEO of Canada Goose, spoke to the iniative, stating "Across Canada, there are people risking their lives every day on the frontlines of COVID-19 in healthcare facilities, and they need help. Now is the time to put our manufacturing resources and capabilities to work for the greater good."
