Mumbai-based architect Ashiesh Shah created a calming restaurant interior for Sequel—a local vegan eatery chain. What the creative wanted to address was the fast-paced environment of the urban landscape and offer a mute refuge for those seeking to restore a certain balance. Ashiesh Shah focused on “the ethos of subtle luxury, slow living, and refined lifestyles.” As such, the calming restaurant interior boasts a plethora of textured surfaces, fluid lines, and gentle edges. The colors, on the other hand, are soft and earthy. In essence, Sequel’s new design is defined as “visually soft.”
The interior aesthetic also prioritizes a dual function. The space is divided into two zones—one for Sequel’s grab-and-go service and one for a sit-in cafe and dining area. The distinction between the two spaces comes in the form of a central partition.
