Surfer Cafe Hybrids

Clean the Sky - Positive Eco Trends & Breakthroughs

'Open' is a New Surf-Friendly Establishment in Saint Agnes, Cornwall

— March 23, 2019 — Art & Design
As brands focus on collaboration and establishments are seeking to introduce the greatest convenience-focused value to their consumers, cafe hybrids have become quite a popular phenomenon. From the coffee house-jewelry shop combination to the co-working-friendly cafe, there are many instances where services have been combined in a seamless, interesting and time-saving manner.

'Open' is one such cafe hybrid that embraces surf culture. The business is managed by Emily and Mark Anderson and it spotlights a contemporary all-white minimalist interior. The additional service is introduced to the business as previously the space "functioned as a surfboard factory [...] that had become run-down over the years."

Although they didn't have any previous experience in design, Emily and Mark overhauled the space and created a slick, elegant and welcoming aesthetic for the surf shop and cafe hybrid.
