Ball Packaging Europe's Newest Can Design Includes a Built-In Straw

Knowing that it's not always comfortable for some consumers to drink out of a can, Ball Packaging Europe released what it is calling an "integrated straw solution (ISS)" that adds a built-in straw to a can.

The development of this new packaging system is a perfect fit for flavored alcoholic beverages targeted towards women and kids who need a convenient way to drink on the go. So far, this ISS system has been adapted for the Polish Sulimar Brewery's Cornelius Grapefruit beer, which was previously only available in bottles.

Since including a straw with a beverage usually requires it to be protectively wrapped until use and affixed to the packaging in some way, this ready-to-drink system makes it much easier to grab a drink and go, without fretting about finding a straw or throwing it out separately afterwards.
