Daniel Johnson — July 2, 2019 — Tech
Blood sugar tracking will now be available with Apple's new diabetes monitors. The Company has started to roll out the devices in its stores. The monitors measure diabetic users' blood to identify glucose levels and will not have continuous tracking, so users will have to lance themselves. A Bluetooth connection pairs with an iPhone or Apple Watch, which allows users access to the blood sugar tracking information. The device will have a $70 USD price point, included with the device is a year of information from Apple's diabetes educating service.
Apple appears to be making health functionality an important mandate for the company. Apple is continuously looking for ways to integrate users' health concerns with its devices. Other health-conscious moves from the company include purchasing an asthma monitoring app.
