Diabetic Health-Tracking Apps

LifeScan Brought Its Health-Monitoring Apps to Fitbit Devices

'LifeScan,' the diagnostics company most famous for its diabetes-focused health-monitoring systems, has announced a new collaboration with Fitbit to broaden the accessibility of its 'OneTouch Reveal' application. Through this collaboration, LifeScan's OneTouch Reveal software will be added to Fitbit's health metrics dashboard. OneTouch Reveal is a blood-glucose monitoring solution that allows patients to view their glucose levels over time.

The application then uses the user's glucose-level information to create a digestible report. This report covers general health and wellness information of the patient. On top of this, the OneTouch Reveal application boasts the ability to link users to relevant health care providers if needed. This is effective for aiding in the healthcare of patients that are managing diabetes, as well as patients that are worried about potentially developing diabetes.

The ability to monitor personal blood glucose levels directly from a Fitbit device is intended to promote and improve active health monitoring, as many patients often skip appointments because of time constraints or personal distress.
