Bloemi by Mario Alessiani, an Italian designer based in Teramo, is a suspended lamp that brings a nice touch of texture to whatever space it is placed in. It is made up of rounded panels, which are mounted to create a rough circular patter around the light source. Made out of lacquered wood, recycled fabric and polyurethane foam, the design is iconographically inspired by tulips. The name itself alludes to that. It comes from the Dutch word 'bloem' that means 'flower.'
Created for the Formabilio-hosted Suspended contest, Bloemi by Mario Alessiani was awarded top prize. Available in a variety of colors including grey, blue and yellow, the light fixture is great for kitchens and dining areas. It has an overall contemporary and feminine appeal that most people will be able to appreciate.
