BBC Studios recently made an investment into Pocket Casts, which is a free podcasting platform. On top of the investment, BBC Studios will also support Pocket Casts' partners, including NRP, WNYC Studios as well as WBEZ Chicago.
The Pocket Cast CEO, Owen Glover, spoke about the investment, "This new partnership with BBC Studios enables Pocket Casts to further our goal of creating the world's best podcasting platform, for both listeners and publishers."
The added support will help the Pocket Casts platform highlight itself as a key player in the podcast industry. Additionally, it will help the platform compete against the major streaming services that currently dominate the podcasts market. The investment will help the organization develop engaging content for listeners.
