A new auto feature is being launched by German car manufacturer Audi. Dubbed 'Green Light Optimization Speed Advisory' (or GLOSA, for short), the implementation will make the rides in busy urban environments smoother.
Every driver knows the pesky feeling of navigating the streets of a busy city and having to stop every minute or so because of a red light. Audi's new auto feature is designed to alleviate the stress induced by this ride-disrupting occurrence. GLOSA is "a system that provides speed recommendations to reduce the amount of time [one] spends at red lights." The tech relies on the position of the car and traffic data to calculate the optimal speed that would allow individuals little to zero wait time at the stop light.
The auto feature is available through Audi Connect Prime, as well as in newer models.
