Art Everywhere US is a campaign that aims to make great American art more accessible to the public, rather than confining it to private homes, galleries or textbooks. The project is an ongoing one that has been swapping billboards for art all across America, but this summer, it is stepping things up with billboards in one of the most coveted ad spaces in the world—Times Square in New York.
This time around, the campaign involves creating what is being called the "largest outdoor art exhibition ever conceived," featuring 58 pieces of art throughout the month of August. The list of great paintings includes masterpieces like American Gothic by Grant Wood, Early Sunday Morning by Edward Hopper and Andy Warhol's Campbells Soup Can print as they tour across the country in place of outdoor advertisements.
