Global Font Change Pranks

The Organization for Nuclear Research Pulled Off This April Fool's Gag

The European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) is the last organization you'd think would pull off a viral April Fool's gag. After all, CERN developed and operates the world's largest and most powerful particle collider -- the Large Hadron Collider -- to advance mankind's understanding of particle physics.

But it turns out that aside from cutting-edge scientific prowess, the organization also has an impressive sense of humor. On April 1st, the venerable organization pulled off a hilarious April Fool's gag by announcing that it would change all fonts on its website to Comic Sans. The announcement came in the form of an online release accompanied by a video featuring Fabiola Gianotti, the former spokeswoman of one of the Large Hadron Collider experiments

It even claimed that the change of font was only the first in a series of changes including adding a selfie of Justin Bieber to the CERN logo and rebuilding the Large Hadron Collider in the shape of a triangle.
