Playful Snack Photography

These Vibrant Images of Amsterdam Snacks Convey a Cultural Experience

Dutch photographers Adrian Woods and Gidi van Maarseveen have created a vibrant food-photography collection of Amsterdam snacks.

The two photographers wanted to expose the culinary landscape of Amsterdam's snack items through the use of playful imagery. The collection of food photographs is appropriately titled 'Snacks of Amsterdam.'

Each image is precisely placed in an angular position to draw the viewer's eye across the page in an abstract way. The Amsterdam snacks are showcased on a brightly colored backdrop. The backdrop colors are light blues and pinks which allows for each snack item to stand out. The use of tiny forks and people's hands in the images show size. In some images the food is sitting atop obscure props like tiny picnic blankets making each food item pop out of the image.
