Amazon Flex is a new package-delivery system that will allow individuals who have their own car to deliver packages in their local area. All they need is a car and an Android smartphone, and they can make local deliveries.
The service has already been launched in Seattle, with people interested in making deliveries able to sign up at the Flex website. Drivers can work as few or as many hours as they like, work flexible hours and make as much as $25 an hour. Drivers must be at least 21 years old and must undergo a background check and show a valid driver's license.
Amazon Flex is a great example of how the power of the crowd can be used to get work, in this case deliveries, done in a timely manner. In the future, it is quite possible that the service will enable deliveries by bicycle and foot.
