The Amazon Echo Frames Have Microphones for Consulting Amazon Alexa
Laura McQuarrie — September 26, 2019 — Tech
Amazon recently introduced a new Alexa-enabled wearable called the Amazon Echo Frames that set themselves apart from many other kinds of smart glasses on the market. While many smart eyewear designs are packed with displays and cameras, the Echo Frames boast a stylish design and discreet microphones for the purposes of making hands-free connections with Amazon Alexa.
With these voice assistant glasses, wearers will be able to make calls, set reminders, add items to their to-do list, listen to podcasts and even control their smart home on the go. The lightweight frames—that come in at just 31 grams—are compatible with most prescription lenses, although a prescription is not needed.
Initially, this new Day One Edition product from Amazon is being made available in limited quantities as part of an invite-only program.
