The Alter Bike by Cycleurope is looking to revolutionize the e-bike industry by doing away with traditional batteries and utilizing sophisticated hydrogen cell technology to keep cyclists moving.
Instead of a built-in battery pack, the Alter Bike by Cycleurope is equipped with small, compact hydrogen cells that will power the bike efficiently and without unnecessary weight. When the Alter Bike by Cycleurope runs low on juice, another battery pack can be easily attached without the need for a lengthy charging cycle.
Launched by Cycleurope under the name Gitane, the Alter Bike is the world's first hydrogen fuel cell-powered bike and is being described by the company as, "A new concept of electric bicycles which relieves the user from most of the constraints of electric mobility: No plug-in infrastructure for charging is necessary, lighter weight and range availability on demand."
