The Alpod's Aluminum Structure Makes it Lightweight and Eco-Friendly
Rahul Kalvapalle — January 21, 2016 — Eco
The Alpod is an innovative mobile home, held together by a sturdy but lightweight aluminum structure, that is capable of being stacked in a modular fashion for a high degree of flexibility.
Designed by James Law Cybertecture in collaboration with AluHouse and Arup, the Alpod fearlessly takes on the modern urban challenge of increasing pressure and reducing space in cities, which have contrived to increase housing prices to astronomic levels as a result. The Alpod is stackable, lightweight and easily transportable. It features a number of green technologies that make it sustainable, including glazed sliding windows and compatibility with either the electric grid or solar panels.
CEO James Law describes the Alpod as being part of "a new kind of architecture – an architecture that blends technology and innovation together, creating a greener environment for everyone" -- especially the mindful Millennial demographic.
