Drying is one of the oldest and healthiest methods of preserving food and the Aliz dehydrator lets users harness the power of the sun to preserve almost any edible goods. Unlike contemporary food drying systems, which are often expensive, guzzle electricity, and are quite large and unwieldy, the Aliz dehydrator focuses on a more natural way of food preservation.
Designed by Myriam Meyer, the Aliz dehydrator looks like an alluring and intricate piece of outdoor decor. The metal compartments layered upon one another resemble a lantern, but also serve as vessels to place food to be dried. The design of the Aliz dehydrator maximizes the potential of the sun's heat and utilizes it to preserve food. A ventilated chamber protects food from pests, and a simple ring allows the device to be held high above the ground.
