Electricity-Free Portable Refrigerators

The 'Tony' Food Storage Container is Made with Clay

The 'Tony' food storage container has been designed by Lea Lorenz as a portable, electricity-free refrigerator that follows on an age-old tradition for keeping fruits and vegetables fresh. The unit works on the principle of evaporative cooling and features a section in the top for placing items, which can be scaled up or down with additional compartments as required. The unit only requires water to be placed into the basins where it will go to work dropping the temperature to between 13 and 17-degrees Celsius without any electricity or power required.

The 'Tony' food storage container sits on a wooden stand to keep it at an accessible height, which also supports portability. The food storage containers are crafted out of Raku that was revealed by research performed by Lorenz to have the best effect.
