In celebration of its 10th anniversary, the Belgian MIXX awards is starting a discussion on the future of awards judging by launching an AI judge experiment.
This year, 'Pearl' will be introduced as the first-ever artificial intelligence jury president, sparking questions on how creativity is measured, the future of fair judging and how AI systems like Pearl may assist humans further in the future. With algorithms that learn from previous sets of data, Pearl is set to pick the special award during the MIXX Award gala.
As it stands, Pearl has reportedly already taught herself to think like a human, has a high level of accuracy and is only getting better at spotting award-winning ideas. It's also noted that: "Pearl can identify the originality of your campaign, but is still learning to recognize if an original idea is also meaningful."
