The Isetan department store is now experimenting with a new AI app that functions as an "AI sake advisor" for customers.
On the basement level of the Isetan store in Tokyo, Japan, customers are able to sample three different kinds of sake at a counter in order to take note of each drink's characteristics. Tasters are advised to pay close attention to how sweet or sour a sake is and input their notes via the in-store tablets. The AI app called 'Sensy' will then be able to recommend a sake that the consume may enjoy, based on a selection of 30 different kinds available.
The new Isetan service is set to be in action until next year and there are also plans to expand the service to include recommendations for other types of alcoholic beverages.
