Samsung has created a new series called '360° Meals' that combines gourmet cooking with VR technology. While VR devices have been used to enhance many different experiences, this new show demonstrates how much the technology can impact the simple act of cooking.
During the latest episode of 360° Meals at Samsung, Michelin-starred chef Daniel Boulud gave audience members a behind-the-scenes look at the filming of the show. Audience members were given Samsung VR headsets and asked to watch a short video showing the cooking process from the prep stage all the way up to the completed dish. The experience was designed to make audience members feel as though they were really in the kitchen with Daniel as he prepared each dish. After the film, audience members were treated to a live cooking demonstration and a series of delicious samples.
The experience demonstrates how VR technology can be used in group settings to fosters a new level of interactivity.
