It's common advice to watch the throne, but the March 2018 watch trends show that people equally concern themselves with throning the watch. Watches have become a much respected piece of one's style, to the point where the watches are almost lauded more than the wearers themselves; elegantly designed, luxurious watches are akin to royalty for designers and style icons alike.
Watches can be pieces to be venerated in and of themselves, or they can be a part of the veneration. BEAMS' OG Watch Collection is a good example: the watches all commemorate the late Keith Haring, one of the icons of pop art through the 70s and 80s.
