As seen in the top July 2021 toys, some of the world's most popular toys are being reinvented with more of a focus on sustainability than ever. The Barbie Loves the Ocean line was introduced by Mattel as a collection of playthings made with 90% recycled ocean-bound plastic pieces. The LEGO Group recently revealed a new prototype for the first-ever recycled plastic LEGO, which meets the needs for the bricks to be durable and rigid.
Hot Wheels are also being retooled for a new generation with the first-ever Hot Wheels NFT digital artworks, which promise to speak to collectors of all ages.
There are also tons of new ways for kids to play with digital pets, including virtual fairies that can be caught by the jar or Tamagotchis that can be taken on the go and interacted with in new ways thanks to smartwatches.
