While many people consider their pets to be valuable members of the family, the July 2016 pet trends reveal that they are now starting to feed them just like any other member of the family. Indeed, the gap between what pets eat and what their owners eat is dramatically shrinking with the rise of specialty pet products.
One of the most interesting innovations in terms of pet food is the focus on healthy, organic and all-natural ingredients. Similar to human food, cat treats and puppy chow are now chocked full of nutrient-rich superfoods and other high-quality ingredients. Some examples of gourmet pet food include puppy-friendly sweet potato chips, coconut oil-infused cat food and low-fat dog treats.
Beyond the emphasis on natural ingredients, the July 2016 pet trends also reveal a demand for animal-friendly versions of human products. For instance, there is now a non-alcoholic beverage called 'Bottom Sniffer' that allows dogs to safely enjoy the refreshing taste of beer. The same company also makes a line of herbal teas for dogs that can help to freshen breath and enhance performance.
