A French innovator by the name of Remi Tournier has invented an innovative new smartphone app that is designed to make it easier then ever for municipal street cleaners in the city of Paris to clean dog poop, by using crowdsourcing to map out the location of the offensive feces.
Paris is one of the world's most beautiful cities, but it does have an increasingly stinky reputation as a city whose sidewalks feature abundant amounts of canine excrement. This is where the Bye Bye Crottoir (or 'Bye Bye Pavement Dog Poo') app comes in. The app allows users to upload alerts when they've spotted dog poop on the sidewalk. They can then add a photo and add a virtual pin that allows street cleaners to take action and clean dog poop on the sidewalk.
The app is an innovative example of crowdsourcing being used to improve urban cleanliness.
