The pink ribbon is one of the most recognizable international symbols of cancer awareness. Although other colours have been designated to different cancers, the colour pink is the one that most people know as the one for breast cancer. During the month of October, all sorts of fund raising events occur, many around the same colour theme such as Wear it Pink (UK).
Pink is gender based, a practice that began back in the 1920’s. The colour signified femininity which was partly the reason why pink was chosen for breast cancer awareness. Today, the colour is used in many products as shown in this cluster celebrating pink!
