An innovative way to combat hunger and food shortage in dry, arid climates is addressed in this Pieter Hoff keynote.
The Dutch bulb grower specializes in the nurturing of plant life and proposes an interesting way of keeping edible flora fauna alive in climates, which face a severe shortage of hydrating waterfalls throughout the year.
He explains that even in the driest deserts on the Earth's surface, water does exist in some form. By harnessing that liquid in some way it can be then be stored and divided up over time to promote substantial growth. By capturing humidity and condensation that is present in the air in his self-developed Groasis Waterboxx, the speaker proposes that food shortages can be eradicated and greenhouse gases will diminish over time.
