Martín Mendoza and Lorenzo Botero Arquitectos Join Forces

Local architecture studio Lorenzo Botero Arquitectos joins forces with interior designer Martín Mendoza to work on a special project transforming a three-story home into a restaurant. This is found in Bogotá, Colombia and the design was rooted in a palette full of natural materials. It is located in Zona del Nogal to be specific and dubbed the Ideal Restaurant. Influences are drawn from the materiality of the deserts of Northern Mexico and the Southern US.

Mendoza speaks about the project and its challenges, stating that "The project was very architectural and I did not want to superimpose things that were unnecessary. I knew that the interior design had to work in favour of the architecture and the concept; hence the colour palette and natural materials⎯wood, vegetable fibres, terracotta, leather, jute and linens⎯and to contrast are the details in bronze and copper."
