London design studio David Kohn Architects creates the Cowshed located in Newton Abbot, UK. It is a house and studio that was once an agricultural building on a dairy farm. It is the last building to be updated as a part of the Middle Rocombe Farm transformation.
This was owned by artist Suzanne Blank Redstone and her husband since the 70s. The two converted the location to a housing community with the goal of "working in an isolated rural location surrounded by a mix of families." Project architect Jennifer Dyne explains to Dezeen", "They sought a home that would enable them to 'live in the light and the landscape', but that would still respect the original humble shed, whilst creating a future-proof accessible home.
