Neri&Hu's Yanzi lights are fixtures that recognize the importance of nature when it comes to lighting one's home. Much ink gets spilled in praise of lighting one's home with so-called natural light -- i.e. sunlight that comes through windows, skylights, et cetera. Rather than offering natural light in that sense, Neri&Hu's Yanzi lights instead come as light that looks natural, because the light fixtures and bulbs are designed to look like birds perched in cages.
Yanzi, which was unveiled at Milan design week, consists of a range of lighting options, each of which is meant to look like a bird. These lights include floor lamps, table lamps, and pendants. They are crafted from steel rods that make up the perches, brushed brass to represent the birds' bodies, and the spherical bulbs that represent the heads.
