The Mandarin Oriental The Landmark renovation by Joyce Wang Studio reimagines the Hong Kong hotel through interiors inspired by the city's colonial-era residences. Stone, timber, textured wallcoverings, and custom églomisé glass define the redesigned lobby, while terracotta, green, and orange tones reference historic architecture and surrounding parks. An undulating staircase anchors the entrance alongside curated artworks, sculptural plinths, and custom pieces inspired by Hong Kong's skyline that continue across carpets, tapestries, glass panels, lift interiors, and guest corridors. The project was completed alongside a new facade designed by Neri&Hu.
The renovation extends across 109 guestrooms and suites with bespoke Fromental wallcoverings, cracked gesso finishes, timber flooring, and custom rugs inspired by historic brickwork. A redesigned communal bar combines fluted jade-toned tiles with patinated brass, verdigris, and bronze panels, while the spa introduces flooring patterned after breathing rhythms and calligraphy-inspired ceiling details and screens. Curated artworks, decorative objects, and bespoke furnishings appear throughout the hotel.
