Morford grew up in a highly wooded area, something that gave her a long-held and profound connection with the natural world. Many of the shoots required Morford herself to take on a number of roles from stylist to art director. As for the models, Morford makes the interesting admission that many of the models effectively function as surrogates of herself, and that she prefers models who resemble her.
