Renowned Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto worked alongside French colleagues Nicolas Laisné and Dimitri Roussel to develop the floorplan for this widespread building. The proposed mix-use structure won a design competition and will be built "as a new gateway to the suburb of Rosny-sous-Bois" in France.
Titled 'Vertical Village,' the building will be constructed almost entirely out of wood, with a two-level car park reinforced with concrete. The structure stands 50 meters tall and is 120 meters in length. It will offer space for offices and housing, including social housing. In addition, the widespread building will have about 6,000 square meters of communal space and a sports hub with climbing walls, urban soccer, a gym and more.
