This year the Aura Water Pipe design is being recognized as a runner up in this year's Core77's design awards, which speaks to the way marijuana and drug paraphernalia are being rebranded as it is becoming more legally available.
The upscale pipe design was created by a group of students from Western Washington University and puts an emphasis on improving the function of the device, as well as making it look attractive enough to be left out rather than hidden in a home.
The unique shape of the Aura Water Pipe design addresses the issue of resin and particulates gathering during the smoking process and making it hard to clean. Rather than being satisfied with having a perpetually dirty device, the students came up with a design that can be completely taken apart in between uses.
