The Walking City animation is a mesmerizing video that could be interpreted a number of ways if not given any direction as to what is it meant to represent. From the philosophical ruminations about the need to always evolve to more basic ideas about character design, Walking City will speak to people on many different levels.

Nevertheless, the Walking City animation was largely influenced by the utopian visions of the 60s. The creators, Universal Everything, write, "The language of materials and patterns seen in radical architecture transform as the nomadic city walks endlessly, adapting to the environments she encounters." The moving sculpture is a symbol of this era. But the true beauty of it is its ability to be a symbol for others concepts as well.
