Immersive Virtual Marathons

Peloton Created a Visual NYC Marathon Experience for the Peloton Tread

The New York City Marathon is the largest in the world and one of the most difficult to qualify for, but Peloton is giving its community the chance to participate in a virtual marathon.

The 2023 New York City Marathon attracted over 50,000 athletes to the city and race organizer New York Road Runners permitted Peloton to film the entire course on race day. As a result, Peloton created a 150-minute scenic run for the Peloton Tread and Tread+, plus five 30-minute sections that break the race down into parts guided by Peloton instructors.

This accessible experience is made even more immersive by Peloton’s auto-incline feature, which mimics the elevation of the course as runners cross iconic New York City bridges and climb the hills of Central Park.
