Virtual Ice Cream Shops

Sweet Ritual Created a Virtual Destination Within Animal Crossing

While Austin-based ice cream store Sweet Ritual is offering curbside pickup during select hours and days of the week, it also welcomes people to stop by the virtual ice cream shop it created anytime within Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Like many Gen Z and Millennial players, Amelia Raley, Sweet Ritual’s co-owner, found the newly released game to be a welcome escape from the disruption of the pandemic and the in-game ice cream shop was created purely for fun, noting "the game has the exact soft-serve lamps that we have in our store.”

As part of the virtual experience, Sweet Ritual welcomes players to its island to take their time exploring, hang out at the virtual ice cream cafe, locate secret gnome landscape paintings and pick up some fruits and DIYs.
