Sidney's 'So 9' restaurant serves upscale Vietnamese street food. Through its interior, So 9 is able to fuse together the theme of working class comfort-food with a higher-end presentation.
Typically, Vietnamese street food is sold by local vendors with fully exposed cooking areas. This Australian restaurant pays homage to that tradition by mimicking the way food is presented and cooked. Also, depending on the type of cuisine you choose, different cooking in the restaurant are in view of diners.
So 9 wanted to bring the authentic Vietnamese street food experience to Sydney diners with the help of minimalist designs and traditional watercolor paintings. The restaurant's facade includes an exposed counter that pays tribute to traditional Vietnamese street food vendors.
