Office Building Rainbow Facades

SAKO Architects Designs the Vertical Rainbow Office Building

The team at SAKO Architects designs the Vertical Rainbow Office Building right in the heart of Tokyo and is defined by its bright tonal look. It strays away from the idea of a conventional design to push creative boundaries and brand identity. The exterior has a bold look as the vertical rainbow facade is meant to represent the paint company's mission of offering a kaleidoscope of tonal options for its consumers.

To create this, SAKO Architects uses a new in-house outdoor glass paint that is applied to high-transmittance tempered laminated glass along the interior. It is further supported by horizontal frames along the top and bottom sides. It also interacts with the weather conditions -- on sunny days, it evokes an array of colors. On cloudier days, the sky merges with the facade to create what looks like digital art.
