The Powder Room is an exclusive bar in Los Angeles, California, that serves a $500 milkshake called 'The Velvet Goldmine' that gets its high price tag from the inclusion of an expensive ingredient.

Although milkshakes are typically budget-friendly drinks that are often associated with fast food menus, the Velvet Goldmine transforms the blended beverage into an upscale item for adults by including Remy Martin Louis 13 cognac—which typically sells for around $3,200 a bottle.

Some of the other ingredients that can be found in The Velvet Goldmine are Bacardi Reserve Limitada rum, a 15-year Drambuie whiskey and Speyside malt whiskeys. The blended drink is topped with 24-karat edible gold flakes and by paying the $500 price of the milkshake, a patron is able to take home their very own Waterford Crystal chalice Swarovski cocktail ring.
