Natural whiskey maker Waterford Distillery has launched Biodynamic Luna, a single malt Irish Whiskey made from eco-friendly barely and produced using "resurrected farming methods" -- namely, growing grains according to lunar cycles.
The first-of-its-kind spirit has been aged in both virgin US oak casks and ex-Vin Doux barrels. As a result of the company's highly unique biodynamic farming methods, the premium whiskey offers a sophisticated tasting experience. According to the company, Biodynamic Luna conjures flavors of fresh fruit, soil, lemon drizzle cake, cloves, almonds, mint, and milk chocolate, while delivering a rich and oily texture.
“There is an ever-increasing adoption of biodynamics in the search for intensity and purity of flavor in the wine industry so, if for the grape, why not the grain?" said Waterford's CEO Mark Reynier in a recent press release.
