For Fall 2018 Ready-to-Wear, 6397 focuses on tomboyish designs and velvet fashion elements. Relying on the millennial-favorite layered clothing look— from 90s-inspired tees and flowy spaghetti strap dresses combinations to classic beanie and cardigan mixes, the collection does a miraculous job in blending fabric textures and colorways.
Stella Ishii is the founder of this expressive and individual-celebrating label and co-founder of a New York-based showroom, called The NEWS. The two businesses are tied together as 6397 is the alphanumeric rendering of NEWS on a phone keypad.
The Ready-to-Wear velvet fashion features timeless designs, enforced through premium fabrics and color-enhancing patterns. The juxtaposition of suede textures with knit pullovers and white-collar button-ups communicates an arty sophisticated vibe that transcends demographic, as well as age group.
