7 Uruguayan Designers Create New Versions of Established Legacies

Bringing the audience's attention to the creative environment of South America, this exhibition at the Aram Gallery in London spotlights the attention-captivating work by seven talented Uruguayan designers. There is a total of nine pieces of furniture that debuted at London Design Festival. From “leather-covered banquettes” to “mirror-drinks cabinet hybrids,” the pieces take inspiration from iconic Uruguayan designers and architects. One of them is the celebrated Julio Vilamajó. To strengthen the connection, each of the new modernist silhouettes is presented with the picture of the furniture in front of a brutalist building by Vilamajó.
